In face of COVID-19, SmartAID provided hundreds of oxygen concentrators across India

Supporting Indian hospitals' response to COVID-19
SmartAID teams across Australia and the US worked tirelessly to provide hundreds of oxygen concentrators to hospitals in New Delhi and across India. We continued to supply these vital devices to hospitals that had opened new COVID wards and had limited access to such essential equipment.
On the technology front, we helped expand mobile vaccination registration, collaborating with local partners to register as many people as possible. We also took action to combat online misinformation about the virus.
Our efforts focused on reaching tens of thousands of people in vulnerable communities, including senior citizens, people with disabilities, those with chronic diseases, women, and single-parent households. Many of these individuals lacked access to smartphones or the internet, making it difficult to register for vaccinations. Unfortunately, they were often misled by fake news spread by individuals with no medical expertise.
The surge of COVID-19 in India exacerbated the digital divide, preventing a large portion of the population from accessing the protection they needed.
Your donation helped us to:
- Purchase more oxygen concentrators for partner hospitals.
- Send hundreds of local community volunteers to assist with vaccine registrations.
- Fight misinformation about COVID-19 within the community and on social media.
This campaign was made possible through the support of The Ted Arison Family Foundation, DHL Global, and generous private donors across India, Australia, and the US.
