Addressing critical needs in tsunami-stricken Indonesia

After the devastation of the tsunami, earthquake, landslides and then the liquification of buildings, iAID (now known as SmartAID) arrived when there was no light and water was thoroughly contaminated. Upon assessing local needs, our team delivered thousands of solar powered lights and water purifiers to everyone in the worst hit areas.

The tsunami was so devastating and fast, that many people had to evacuate with little more than the clothes they wore. This meant hundreds of kids had lost their favorite belongings, which often act as sources of comfort. Acknowledging this, iAID donated hundreds of toys, colouring-in books, sweets, and clothes from VELVET Tee’s.
