Supporting Families with Clean Energy & Water after Extreme Floods cause Mass Displacement

Following the devastation caused by Super Typhoon Fung-wong, which struck the northeastern Philippines on 9 November with winds exceeding 185 km/h, SmartAID has mobilised its emergency response teams to support affected communities.
Over 1.4 million people have been displaced across Aurora Province, the Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas, with widespread flooding, power outages, and severe infrastructure damage.
Families are sheltering in evacuation centres and public buildings, urgently needing food, clean water, shelter, power, and medical aid.

How We’re Responding
SmartAID, which has operated in the Philippines for several years in partnership with local charities, national agencies, and government first responders, has activated both its “SmartAID Philippine Relief Team” and an Australian emergency delegation.
The teams are using real time mapping and logistics technology to assess needs and coordinate the delivery of aid supplies already being drawn from warehouses across Australia and the Asia Pacific.
“In the face of such immense loss, SmartAID stands ready not just with compassion, but with innovation and action. Our mission is to combine technology, logistics and humanity to deliver help fast because every hour counts.” said Alethea Gold, Chairperson of SmartAID Australia and Global Goodwill Ambassador.
SmartAID is working closely with local partners to restore connectivity, distribute solar-powered lighting and water-filtration units, and deliver essential relief to the most vulnerable.
