Venezuela

Two powerful earthquakes measuring 7.5 and 7.2 magnitude struck Venezuela’s densely populated northern coast in rapid succession, devastating communities across La Guaira, Vargas, and surrounding areas. The twin earthquakes caused catastrophic structural damage, reducing homes and public buildings to rubble, crippling critical infrastructure, and leaving thousands of families displaced as emergency responders race against time to locate survivors trapped beneath collapsed structures.

As the critical window to rescue survivors rapidly closes, SmartAID–Magen’s 17-member Search & Rescue (SAR) team continues to work tirelessly alongside local emergency services in the hardest-hit communities, while SmartAID prepares the next phase of the humanitarian response.

As search operations transition into recovery, SmartAID’s Technology and Emergency Response teams are preparing the next phase of the humanitarian response. Working with logistics partners, we are rapidly mobilizing critical technology and emergency supplies to restore essential services in communities where infrastructure has been devastated.

Emergency Power

Portable clean energy systems and medical supplies will provide reliable electricity for emergency shelters, field hospitals, and medical teams, enabling lifesaving care to continue day and night while powering critical medical and communications equipment.

Emergency Communications

Telecommunication and internet systems will restore connectivity where infrastructure has been destroyed, allowing emergency responders to coordinate operations efficiently and helping families reconnect with loved ones.

Safe Drinking Water

Portable water purification systems will provide immediate access to clean drinking water, reducing the risk of waterborne disease outbreaks and protecting vulnerable communities in the weeks ahead.

With hundreds of thousands of people displaced, critical infrastructure severely damaged, and humanitarian needs continuing to grow, SmartAID is seeking support to sustain its emergency response and deliver these lifesaving technologies to affected communities.

Your support will help provide power, communications, clean water, and emergency relief to families rebuilding their lives after this devastating disaster.
